The people behind the actual portraits
Some of the people I paint, you might actually know. They’re people you’ve seen on television, on the big screen, or whose music you’ve listened to. Some of the people are my friends, in which case, I know who they are, but you don’t. Either way, when people and portraits meet, that’s when I get the biggest feeling of accomplishment. So, here are a few people who’ve met their portraits (some without their portraits).
I met Joey in 2011 at the House of Blues Boston. I have since then told everyone my name is Faye, because no one outside of the Netherlands can spell my name right even if I tell them how to spell it.
I met Darren Criss at the House of Blues Boston in 2011. There are two paintings of him in my first artbook.
I gave Laura Jansen this portrait at her album release party for her album Elba.
Being meta with my friend Eric.
I actually met Jesse in 2011, but was lucky enough to see him in his new play The Revisionist last month.
I met Nate Ruess, leadsinger of the band Fun. before their show in Utrecht.
